Chilled out vacation

My partner and I just got back from Las Islas, and it was so chill. We did the Bioluminescent Plankton Tour one night, which was really cool to see. The food at Tía Coco was good, especially the seafood. It was easy to get around, and the pool area was never too crowded. Just a really nice, relaxing trip overall, exactly what we needed.

Absolutely loved my stay

My time at Hotel Las Islas was incredible! The Private Pool Bungalow was beyond my expectations; the view was breathtaking. I did the Mangrove Kayaking and it was such a unique experience. Every meal at Tía Coco Restaurant was delicious. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. I'm already planning my next visit!

Booking and stay review

Booked a Private Pool Bungalow online about three months in advance. The booking process was straightforward on their website. We used the boat transfer service from Cartagena, which was efficient and took about 45 minutes. Check-in was quick. The bungalow itself was spacious and well-maintained; the private pool was a real highlight. We also tried a Spa Treatment, which was relaxing, though a bit pricey. The Choco Bar had good drinks. The only minor point was that WiFi in our bungalow was a bit spotty at times, but it worked fine in common areas. Overall, a very pleasant and luxurious stay.

Worth the investment

I was looking for a good value luxury spot. Found a long stay discount on their site when booking a Grand Suite. It made the price more digestible for the quality. The all-inclusive package made budgeting easy, no surprises. Meals at Las Guacamayas were included and quite good. Felt like I got my money's worth for the experience. Definitely consider their packages if you're trying to save a bit.

Consistently great experience

This was my third time at Hotel Las Islas. I always book a Sea View Bungalow. It's reliably good. The staff remembers me, which is a nice touch. This visit was just as relaxing as the last. They maintain high standards. Will definitely return next year.

Good stay, nice bungalow

Stayed in a Treetop Bungalow. The room was clean and comfortable. Service was prompt when we needed something. Boat transfer from Cartagena was smooth. Enjoyed the privacy. No issues during our visit.

How do you even get to this place? Is it a pain from Cartagena airport or do they sort out transfers?

A Andre Okafor 3 weeks ago
They have boat transfers included from Cartagena, usually from a specific dock. It's pretty smooth, takes about an hour or so.

They do arrange it, don't worry. You can also do a helicopter if you're feeling fancy but the boat is the standard way and it's nice.

Heard about Casa en el Agua, kinda similar vibe maybe? Anyone been to both Las Islas and Casa en el Agua and can compare?

T Troy C. 1 month ago
Oh man, they are SO different. Casa en el Agua is super rustic, hostel vibe, party island. Las Islas is pure luxury, high-end, much more chill and private. Depends what you're looking for but Las Islas is way more upscale.

Night and day really. Casa en el Agua is like, hammocks and communal living, very basic. Las Islas is a proper luxury resort with private bungalows, spa, fancy restaurants. Casa en el Agua is a backpacker's dream, Las Islas is a honeymoon spot.

Is Hotel Las Islas one of those all-inclusive resorts where everything is covered? Or do you pay for food/drinks separately?

N Nick 1 week ago
Not fully all-inclusive like some places. Meals are separate unless you book a specific package that includes them. Some packages might have some meals or activities, but generally, you pay as you go for food and drinks.

T Tara 1 week ago
Nope, not like a Sandals or anything. You pay for your meals and most activities on top of the room. They do have packages that might bundle some things though, so check those.

Thinking of booking a treetop bungalow for early next year, like January. will it be crazy busy then? trying to avoid huge crowds.

E Emma Ito 5 days ago
Yeah, January is super popular for them, same with like Easter week. You'd definitely want to book way in advance if you have specific dates in mind.

It'll be busy for sure. I went last December and it was packed but still felt private enough in our bungalow. The main areas had more people tho.

Hey, wondering about discounts. Are there usually any good deals for booking like way ahead of time? Planning a trip for next summer.

K Kevin 5 days ago
Definitely. They do early bird stuff pretty often. I got 15% off by booking like 6 months out for my trip last year.

Yeah, check their 'offers' section. They almost always have something for booking early, sometimes it's 10-20% off. Keep an eye out for seasonal promos too.
